Jade

1990 - 1992

The critics (B'Ham Uni's Redbrick magazine) once said something which likened Jade to Marillion. Though also there were some prog tendencies, the resemblance lay mainly with the length of songs rather than the presence of harlequins and jesters' tears, though with Jade MkI that's not strictly true....

Jade MkI
(Nov 90 - Sep 91)

As seen here, Jade MkI were hard rockin' muthas with a devoted following...

Jade MkII
(Sep - Nov 91)
(spot the band behind the thin layer of moshers)

Jade MkII continued this way but the folk influence was not far away...

Jade MkIII
(Nov 91 - Jun 92)

Jade MkIII relied more on acoustic instruments
(though not in this shot at the Pen & Wig, Birmingham Feb 1992)

I admit that my haircut
(see centre) may be
the worst  here (Ed.)
