Rhombus

2001 - date

Rhombus is the current project of Paul Lepki and Jim Quinn.
Rhombus' style is rock/blues/pop/funk.

Paul and Jim continue their long-time collaboration in Rhombus, and convene to write, jam and record whenever possible,
Paul is based in Surrey, and sessions have been held at Paul's studio or wherever Jim is living at the time - be it Brighton or Den Haag!
These are held on an ad-hoc basis so watch this space for future recordings!

Both Paul and Jim play  multiple instruments  in a variety of ways, as evidenced by the photos below :-)

 History

Paul and James have played on and off in bands together since secondary school band  Censored (1986), with James on guitar and Paul on bass.
After completing  secondary school  in summer 1986,  Hanging Around was formed from members of Censored, and here Paul and Jim
both added original songs to the set list,  and performed live on many occasions in the Manchester and Bury area.

When Hanging Around  split, Paul and Jim began recording in Road generally less than 5m wide, untarred and made 4 track demos. It was  then that they
were introduced to drummer Ivor Greenfield. Ivor's uncompromisingly funky rock style  was captured on rehearsal recordings of the groups original material.

After a brief hook up with IV Horsemen to form the MkII line up, with Paul now based in Birmingham  and Jim in Sheffield,  they continued recording  and
 rehearsing with various incarnations of
IV Horsemen MkII with Ivor, during university holidays and  sporadically in the years following.

The next major project was Pressed.  This was based in Reading in Dark Dank Studios. Pressed had regular jams/writing sessions, and  Paul and Jim  experimented
with additional personnel in the  line-up : for some sessions they played with John (occh it's yoor round shurely) Clark, and Phil (banjo) Walsh.

However, it was just  Paul and Jim who produced demo Dark Dank Demos in 1997.

After  Paul returned from living in Copenhagen , Rhombus was formed  in 2001, and continues to this day!
